In June 2018 I bought a new car and added it to my policy and cancelled my old vehicle. I paid the difference in the price of the policy not once but twice (and they tried to get more money but that's further into this complaint).

Then, after I made those payments, they notified the Department of Motor Vehicles that I DID NOT HAVE INSURANCE. I called Windhaven and they were supposed to fax the DMV, which I had to use a friends phone to call the DMV because they did not know their fax number). I thought the issue was straightened out. Maybe 2 weeks later, I was rushing to get to class and I got pulled over and guess what!

My license was suspended due to no insurance. The officer was kind enough NOT TO TAKE ME TO JAIL AND IMPOUND MY CAR...but he did take my license and told me I could not drive my car....I had to miss class and have a friend come and get me. I went to the DMV the next day and they gave me a new license (for free due to Windhaven's mistake) and reinstated my license (once I showed them proof of insurance-what Windhaven was supposed to do the 2 times before that I called and requested them to correct the mistake they made in the first place). That is just one thing they did to me...I asked them 3 times to update my finance company because my finance company thought I was driving around with no insurance.

My finance company was charging me 85 dollars a month due to Windhaven's mistake again. That is not it either.....The straw that broke the camels back was yesterday, my premium was due (185 - which was outrageous anyways) on the 20th of Sept. I was set up on auto pay and they charged my account 347.00!!!! NO EXPLANATION OR NOTICE.

I called Windhaven and asked for an explanation. They said I owed additional monies (which I thought I already paid) for July and August. Mind you I renewed in August - why did it take until September 20th for them to realize I still owed them money for July and August? And it took them until September 20 to recoup their so called short premiums?

I Called my agent and explained the situations to her, she said they should not have charged me any more monies for July and August. She said that I did the right thing by having my bank stop that 347.00 payment. I knew I would never get a refund. I did cancel my insurance with Windhaven and signed up with a new company.

My agent is updating my finance company.

I still have to go to court over these unprofessional, incompetent idiots. Please be aware of this company, I have heard stories from other people too.

Reason of review: ALL OF IT.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
